Moringa, as a super food, can help increase breast milk production. A 2013 research report pointed out that eating Moringa can increase the amount of breast milk, because Moringa is a natural prolactin. At the same time during breastfeeding, mother can add Moringa to her own diet, which can improve the nutrition of breast milk. Carotene can be converted into vitamin A, so that the baby can have enough vitamin A to protect its eyes and strengthen its immunity.
A double-blind research done in 2000 has proven that Moringa Leaf can significantly increase the breastmilk supply of postpartum mother.
For the first two days postpartum, mothers were asked to pump breastmilk.
On the third day, researchers started to give mothers Moringa Leaf Capsule or Flour Capsule randomly.
Breastmilk were measured on Day 3, Day 4 and Day 5.
Results indicated that, mothers given Moringa Leaf has 66.5% breastmilk volume increase from Day 3 to Day 4, and 180.2% from Day 3 to Day 5. However, mothers in control group (flour was given instead of Moringa Leaf), breastmilk volume only increased 47.7% from Day 3 to Day 4, and stopped increase on Day 5.
